Awaken Your Spirit with Bhagat Kundalini Yoga
Hi, I’m Bhagat. I first discovered yoga 25 years ago in an Ashtanga Vinyasa class with Jock Orton of Limehouse Yoga, where I experienced an immediate sense of release and vitality. Over the years I explored and enjoyed Hatha, Hot Yoga, and Yin, but it was Kundalini Yoga — with its unique blend of breathwork, meditation, mantra, and movement — that truly resonated with me.
In 2018, I began my Kundalini journey and have since completed my Level 1 teacher training with Shivdev and am now undertaking Level 2 at Amrit Nam Sarovar under Satravyati Yogi, whose teachings carry the wisdom of Yogi Bhajan and a deep connection to the elements.
I also feel fortunate to have completed the Beyond Addiction course with Sat Dharam Kaur, a program that deeply resonates with me for its unique integration of Kundalini Yoga, naturopathic medicine, CI therapy and modern neuroscience in understanding the brain and human behaviour.
Reconnect with Yourself
Alongside yoga, I am an Elite Mentorship Trainer with Peter Sage’s EMF. Leading three cohorts has deepened my love for supporting people in their self-discovery and shaped my teaching style — personable, uplifting, and rooted in authenticity.
Through Bhagat Kundalini Yoga, my aim is simple: to hold space where others can reconnect with themselves, transform, and shine. Sat Nam.
Understanding Bhagat Kundalini Yoga
My 3-Step Approach to Supporting Your Kundalini Yoga Practice
1
Step One:
Build a Strong Foundation
We begin with the essentials—breathwork, movement, meditation, and mantra. This step cultivates awareness, energy, and balance, providing a solid base for your practice to grow sustainably and deeply.
2
Step Two:
Foster Community Through Shared Values
Transformation thrives in connection. By creating a supportive community centred on shared values and collective learning, you gain encouragement, accountability, and the rich exchange of insights that deepen your practice.
3
Step Three:
Offer Dharmic Guidance for Living in Flow
Beyond the mat, we provide guidance rooted in dharmic principles to help you integrate your practice into daily life. This equips you with tools to navigate challenges, align with your purpose and live in harmony with your highest potential.
A typical Kundalini Yoga class consists of a kriya, which is a specific sequence of postures, breath patterns, and sounds (mantras) designed to produce a particular energetic or emotional effect. These kriyas can vary widely: some focus on physical strength and flexibility, while others target emotional release, stress relief, or enhanced intuition. Classes often begin with a warm-up followed by the kriya, then a period of deep relaxation, and conclude with a meditation. One of the defining features of Kundalini Yoga is the use of chanting, particularly the repetition of mantras such as “Sat Nam,” which means “truth is my identity.”

“Not just exercise – Dan’s classes reach soul and spirit. Dan is a talented and dedicated teacher. I drag myself to an early morning class knowing I will leave feeling rejuvenated.“
